Meet Google’s Guardian, Parisa Tabriz The Security Princess, Who Secures The Tech Giant

The tech companies like Google should make security the utmost priority. Every day we share our lives online with the world. And anything can be hacked on the web. So security is a necessity.

Google’s weapon against the hackers is ‘The Security Princess’ who along with her team of 30 security experts try to hack their own website and then get rid of the mischievous hackers.

Tabriz is a highly valuable asset for the company. She is well known Google security engineer in the world of hackers. She had been listed by Forbes in the ‘top 30 people under 30 to watch in the technology industry’ in 2012. She joined Google in 2007.

Tabriz along with her team struggles every day to make Google the safest browser by finding bugs and fixing them before any other hacker gets them.

On her website, Tabriz says,

‘I work to make websites like these more secure. I have also had the privilege to work with the U.S Digital Service to enhance network and software security at the White House. My job is fun and I’m lucky I’m paid for it by the best.

Recently, I have been working on making the internet traffic safer and secure by spreading the hacker mindset and improving diversity in the tech industry. It leads to more innovation and better results. You can read about me in WIRED or ELLE. I was also on the Forbes list along with some other high achievers.

She told Digital News Asia,

‘Ever since I have joined Google, my job has changed but the main mission is the same that is to keep the users and their data safe. I, along with my team of 500 other people work on the security and privacy and keeping user data safe across different products.

As reported by Fossbytes, Tabriz looks for brilliance, curiosity, sharpness, adaptability and rock-solid ethics in her co-workers

Tabriz studied at the University of Illinois to study engineering. But she was interested in computer science. She was called for an internship program during her college and right after her graduation in 2007, she joined the company full-time.

Tabriz prefers to use the title ‘Security Princess’ or ‘Browser Boss’ for herself instead of the usual Information security engineer. When she is not working, she enjoys gelato, climbing and taking photos.
